9 Months and Counting....

Oh my goodness. So much has been going on. We turned 36 weeks this past Monday and can't even believe it! I am not sure how big Baby Mason is at this point but he was about 6.5 on August 18th. I am not dialated at all and still closed up like a drum. So much has been going on.. I got in a car accident, my friend Amanda had her baby, our precious Pop passed away, my Father was in the hospital. We really have not had a chance to concentrate on baby things. Most of his room is set-up but we have some things to put together this weekend including the car seat. We also plan to try and pack our hospital bag this weekend.
I am getting really anxious about baby and all that goes into it. I am ready to not be pregnant anymore but not ready for baby to be here yet. I can't figure how how to make that happen. We have weekly appts now so we feel like things are moving!

8 Months!

Well, we turned 8 months on Monday, I can't believe it! I feel like I look the same as I did a few months ago but it's so hard for me to tell. I do know that i was devastated this past Saturday when i was examining my belly in the mirror and saw what i thought to be the beginning of stretch marks. Agggggg. There were four, small, red marks on each side of my belly. I showed Reg right away and he was so sweet, he said, "honey, i think that's just the marks from your underwear?"
No, it wasn't but it was a good try. Since, the marks have become slightly longer and itch. I've been praying to the stretch mark Gods ever since. Is there a Patron Saint for this type of thing?

This weekend is my baby shower down on the Eastern Shore. I don't like being the center of attention so hopefully Reg will show up and deflect some of it onto him. So far, there are about 32 people coming and they better bring good gifts for Baby. Reg and I spent last weekend setting up the crib together and didn't even argue about it. Although, I was very sweet when mentioning when he was picking up the wrong parts. After all, I don't want to come in one day and find Baby on the floor bc the matresss fell down. We are still waiting for our dresser and rocker to be delivered before we can really finish the room. I will, of course, supervise the putting together of those items as well.

We have a doctor's appt. today so hopefully all is well in uterus land.

30 Weeks!

I'm not very good at this social networking stuff. As I mentioned below, I have not tweeted nor is my face on any book. However, some significant time has gone by and I do have a few updates on Baby! First, we are ~10 weeks to go today! This past weekend we did our baby class and toured the maternity ward. It made me really anxious and made me realize this baby idea is not just something I have on a to-do list like clean the bathrooms, organize my pictures, get a couch, have a baby. This is real life stuff that is forever! Wow.

Ok so what's new with Baby... Reg and I went in to do a 3D/4D ultrasound a few weeks ago and he was in there being super cute. He yawned, moved his hands and was eating fluid! He moves all the time during the day, esp. in the morning when I first wake up, after lunch and then at night before bed. At our last check-up, he was 3 pounds, 4 ounces! He's so big already!

Reg and I are still working on getting his room all set and I will post pictures when we get it all done. We are getting so excited and it feels like time is going by fast now!

Almost 6 Months!

So, my sister tells me I'm supposed to update this blog thing? I thought it just updated on its own. Actually, I have been really busy over the past month and currently, I am in Tampa for a show. Let's see, well, as I mentioned, I will be 6 months on Monday! Baby Bean has been moving and shaking all over the place. I would say starting around... 22 weeks his "bubbles" turned into real kicks. Reg felt the kick for the first time last week and he was thrilled. Last night was the most I have ever felt him move around and my stomach was contorting in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Things have been going well, I am still tired a lot but I think that's also bc we have been busy and work is stressful. We started a registry at Pottery Barn Kids which was really fun, we still need to finish that one up and go get all the essential stuff. I will be eager for this show to be over (come on June 18!) as it is my last trip before baby. No need to rub it in that I won't be going on the O'Hara cruise! :(
Here are some belly pics of baby:

We are having a...

BOY. We are thrilled! We had our big u/s last week and little boy Mason is meauring a full 8 ounces! He's basically a glass of water right now. The Dr. measured his spine, arms, legs, kidneys, heart, brain and everything looked perfect. We told Reg's grandparents this weekend and they were so happy to hear about their favorite (and only) great grandchild. He's really been moving a lot since this past week, I think he is excited that he can finally be out of the closet and does not have to hide his gender anymore. I will upload some pictures soon. Next week, 5 months! Halfway there!

18 Weeks Today!

Everyone keeps telling me that time has gone by so fast. Sure. Seems like just last year I found out I was pregnant. We have our big u/s this week! I'm nervous as I have not gained any weight yet and I hope little Bean isn't planning on staying the size of a little bean until birth.

How far along: 18 weeks
Weight gain/loss:2.5 lbs STILL!
Maternity clothes? Yes, wearing mostly maternity clothes now as nothing fits.
Stretch marks? Not yet
Sleep? The full hour to hour and a half I get at each night are really satisfying
Best moment this week? Feeling baby move a lot
Food cravings: Anything salty/pickled, pizza, Italian, Doritos, olives!
What I am looking forward to? May 4th! Big ultrasound!
Complaints: Back aches, headaches, no sleep

We're All Moved In!

What a busy few weeks we have had! I had to travel for a week to the Gulf Coast for work and Reg was a great help and moved a lot of the stuff to our new apt. while I was gone. Last weekend, Shawn Jones was great and came down and helped move all the heavy furniture. Thanks Shawn! Everything is finally in and the other apt. is cleaned and closed up! New Chapter for us! This past weekend we spent a lot of time organizing, cleaning and doing laundry. Hooray for a washer and dryer!

Let's see, what has happened baby-wise since my last update? Well, I *think* I felt little Bean move around 16 weeks but I was not sure. I felt bubbles and I'm pretty sure it was not the Chimp. Cue: Don Ho singing "Tiny Bubbles." As the weeks have progressed, I have felt almost a tickling feeling under my belly button. I'm pretty sure now that's Bean in there causing a stir. He/she seems to like it when i ingest a lot of ice cream. We already have so much in common!

14 Weeks!

Apologize for not having a chance to update the blog, I was on travel this week in sunny Baltimore, MD. Let's see, what's new baby-wise... for some reason, in the past week, Baby Mason has grown from a gummy bear to a 6ft adult in there! My stomach has seemed to pop out and strangers are asking if I am pregnant! As our little Chinese waitress at our favorite restaurant asked me yesterday, "you have baby inside?"
My back has been hurting a lot for only being three months but I think it is the way I am sleeping? It could be attributed to the fact that people are telling me I need to give up my beloved high heels, but I am ignoring that option.
In general, things are going well and Reg and I are looking forward to moving soon. I let him know that every time we plan on moving, I will coordinate a pregnancy because it is great not having to pack or carry anything! :)

Moving to Reston!

Reg and I have found a wonderful little condo to rent in Reston, VA. It has two bedrooms, two baths, a nice renovated kitchen, a washer and dryer (you don't know how much we have missed this), and a dishwasher! Now, Reg does not have to be the dishwasher. The condo is located right across the street from Reston Town Center, if you are not familiar with this, come visit and see how wonderful it is! Shopping and restaurants! More importantly, shopping! We will vacate our little apt. at the end of April and plan to move in around the first of May. We are SO excited! Please plan to come visit us. You must be ok with a)sharing a bedroom with Baby Mason and b) taking care of all the middle of the night feedings.
